

With hearts brimming with love and gratitude, we honor the life of Jose David Sazon, known as "Pepe." At the age of 87, he peacefully departed this world on June 4th, 2024, surrounded by his loving family in San Marcos, CA, home. Jose was a charming husband whose love knew no bounds. As a father, he was not just kind and nurturing but a beacon of wisdom and warmth, guiding his children through life's challenges. As a grandfather, he brought endless joy and laughter, making every moment memorable and leaving a lasting imprint on their hearts. Jose's life was a testament to unwavering faith, boundless strength, and unending joy, serving as a steadfast pillar for his loved ones.
Born in Betis, Pampanga, Philippines, to Alfredo and Teresa Sazon, Jose's life was a testament to hard work and unwavering faith. He married his beloved Salome on December 9th, 1962, and their journey was filled with love and devotion. Jose's craftsmanship as a carpenter and woodworker took him from the Philippines to Libya and Saudi Arabia, and he always strived to provide for his family.
Jose and Salome joined their eldest son, Rene, in the United States in 1996. Jose worked as a custodian at the Navy Lodge and later retired from the library at Camp Pendleton. He found joy in playing volleyball, bowling, fishing, cooking, and building, always surrounded by the love of his family. His favorite dishes, like shrimp, crabs, and "putcherong bulig," were a testament to his passion for cooking.
"Tatay Jose" leaves a legacy of faith, love, and joyful memories. His unwavering faith and love for his family will continue to inspire us. We will forever cherish his kind smile, loving embrace, and steadfast faith. Jose David Sazon's spirit lives.
