Jose C. Treto, 72, of Vista, California, was born to Maria and Jesus Treto in San Francisco, Zacatecas, Mexico on February 07, 1942. Jose had 4 siblings, Maria, Lupe, Manuel and Carmen. As the oldest child, he felt the need to assist his parents sustain the family, prompting him to join the work force at an early age. He was working as a taxi-cab driver at the international border when he met his lifetime soul mate, Maria Franco De Jesus. They married on December 5, 1967 and migrated to the U.S. where they had three children (Rosa, Vicky and Albert). In 1971, Jose shifted his career to the automobile industry. Jose worked for Toyota as an A-1 mechanic before he began his own Smog Check business. He proudly opened the doors to Treto’s Automotive in Los Angeles on 1976. In 1984 Jose moved his family to Vista to be closer to his aging parents. Jose and his wife ultimately conquered the American dream and became US Citizens in 1986. Exploring different professions, in 1984 he worked as a bee keeper and in 1988, he worked as an Electrician at ACDC Electronics. Nevertheless, Jose was recognized as a Transmission Specialist for over 30 years. Everyone knew him as the life of the party. Each morning he’d bring us joy by dancing to a rhythm that was known to the family as the madcow or la vaca loca. He enjoyed spending his evenings with his family and friends in his garage listening to music and drinking an occasional beer. He was a generous man and never hesitated to teach anyone who was in need of advice. In March of 2014, Jose and his wife set off on a journey that had been planned since their youth years. Their trip across the states was projected to last for several months but was short-lived by tragedy. Jose suffered a massive stroke and passed away on April 5th, in El Paso, Texas. He received a Catholic ritual before passing; a true blessing from the Holy Spirit. Jose C. Treto, Dad, you will truly be missed.
Jose is survived by his wife Maria Treto and his three children, Rosa A. Treto, Vicky M. Treto, and Jose A. Treto, his brother Lupe, his sister Carmela, 12 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
