Lori Marie Empey

We are deeply saddened to announce the death of our angel mother and wife, Lori Marie Empey on October 30, 2024 at the age of 61. She had a brief battle with renal cancer and passed away peacefully while surrounded by her family.

She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 41 years, Derek Empey; daughter Stephanie Peterson and her husband Greg Peterson; daughter Holly Empey; parents Arlen and Lois Harris; brother Mark Harris and his wife Cindy; brother Michael and his wife Janelle; sister Lisa Groesbeck and her husband Todd; sister Lynne Newell and her husband Kevin; grandchildren Ellie, Cameron, Leah, Logan and Sadie Peterson; as well as numerous other relatives and friends.

Lori was a wonderful, kind, fun, and loving person and she will be greatly missed. She had a strong testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ and eternal families. We know she had a joyous return to heaven and that we will see her again.

A reception for the family to meet friends and family will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, November 16th at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 3990 Mesa Road in Oceanside, CA.

A funeral will be held immediately following at 3:00 PM in this same location. Everyone who loved Lori is welcome to attend both events.
