Mac Arthur Johnson

Mac transitioned from this life to his heavenly home on October 25, 2024. He was born June 22, 1947 in Shreveport, LA and grew up in Jefferson, TX. After graduating High School, he joined the Air Force. He spent 4 years in the United States Air Force before separating to join the United States Marine Corps, where he retired from the United States Marines after 27.5 years of combined Active-Duty service on September 18, 1992. After his retirement, he dedicated 23 years to Civil Service as an Environmental Security Specialist.

Mac partnered with the North County Retired Marines Association to donate essential materials needed to encourage higher education for the local underserved community. He additionally supported Surfside Lodge 112, small business establishments, and various other community outreach programs in Oceanside, CA.

Mac is survived by wife – Gwendean I. Szabad Johnson; Siblings – Joyce Lister, Mary McNeal, and Henry (Opal) Anderson; Children – Theresa Leonard, Charles Jackson, Mac (Laritza) Johnson Jr, Chari (Vince) Becerra, Tamara (Joey) Stenger, and Richard Manu (Janina) Johnson; Grandchildren – Harrison, Lydia (Rumel), Harrison, Alexis, Freddie, Makani, Keilana, Kainoa, Keoki, Damian (Alika), Nohea, Elliott, Sophia, Mac (Ekolu), Castiel (Kawika), Remiel (Makana), and baby Johnson due January 2025; Great Grandchildren – Ava and Adrian, baby Smith due February 2025; and many family members all around the world.
