Marla was the steadfast heart of our family; a hardworking, sacrificial woman whose dutiful spirit and resourceful hands built a legacy of love that will endure beyond her.
She married her high school sweetheart, Lynn, the love of her life, and stood faithfully by his side as a dedicated military wife through every deployment, every relocation, and every hardship. Together they created a home anchored in unwavering commitment, deep faith, and quiet resilience.
As a young mother to two children, she carried the family with remarkable strength and grace—often single-handedly managing parenting, work, and household while Lynn served overseas. That same nurturing spirit only deepened over time: she became grandmother to three and great-grandmother to six little ones, welcoming each new generation with open arms, hard-earned wisdom, and stories that brought the past to life.
At her core, she was a pioneer woman; strong, resourceful, modest, and never daunted by hard work—yet she was remarkably ahead of her time, embracing independence and perseverance with forward-thinking courage.
Above all, she loved God deeply and held her country in quiet abiding pride. Her faith steadied her, her unparalleled resilience sustained her, and her family remained her greatest joy.
Though she is no longer physically with us, the Goose lives on in our most cherished memories: the sound of her laughter, her soothing back tickles, the smell of her homemade chicken and dumplings filling the kitchen, the magic of Christmas Eve's spent in her living room, the joys of weekend sleepovers, the adventure of camping trips, the peaceful walks around the duck pond, the lessons she taught through her example, and the love she gave so freely.
We are profoundly grateful for the gift of her life. She is deeply loved and forever missed.
She is survived by her husband, Lynn Scott; her children, Barbara and David; her grandchildren, Ian, Kindy and Kaila; her great grandchildren, Eli, Quinn, Owen, Everett, Nora, and Zuriah.
A graveside service will be held on March 21, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at Eternal Hills in Oceanside, CA.
She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered always.
Marla will be laid to rest at Eternal Hills Memorial Park, 1999 El Camino Real, Oceanside, on March 21, 2026.
