Our beautiful, beloved Wife, Mother and Grandmother Nancy Eleanor Voight, resident of Vista, California, formerly of Hanover Park, Illinois, passed away on June 27, 2018 at Astor Healthcare Center, Vista, California at the age of 75.
Nancy was born on January 26, 1943 and raised in Chicago, Illinois. On January 28, 1961, she married Richard Voight in Chicago, Illinois. In 1987 they moved to Vista, California. Nancy worked for Palomar College for over 20 years as an independent sales clerk for the college bookstore on campus and its satellite location at Camp Pendleton.
In her earlier years, she enjoyed being on golf and bowling leagues. She also had a passion for dancing, especially to music such as the “Bee Gees and other Classic Oldies.” Later she followed sports, specifically Major League Baseball and Professional Golf. Her favorite teams were the Chicago Cubs and the New York Yankees and Phil Mickelson became her number one golf pro. She also enjoyed gambling; whether playing the slot machines at various casinos, bingo, the lottery or betting on the horses. There was also an artistic side of her; creating a colorful object into being with a can of spray paint! Not only did she love to cook, but she loved to experiment with new recipes. When it came to desserts, her recipe for Carrot Cake tops the list. And what most people would consider chores, i.e. cleaning, laundering, the mundane things; she loved. She’d bring over her cleaning supplies, bucket in hand and a determination to get the job done! However, what mattered most of all to her was being with her family. Priceless...
Nancy’s warm heart, humble spirit, and contagious smile will be greatly missed by her husband, Richard Voight Sr. of 57 years. Their three children, Julie Stange, Richard Voight Jr., and Laura Visco. Grandchildren, Michael Stange, Diana Visco, Michael Visco, Anthony Visco and Jacque Voight.
A love song to Nana...
"AS WE WALKED"
As we walked down the aisle many years ago
We thought we were in heaven then so many years ago
Oh Nancy V...Oh Nancy V
Now it’s time to help you dear every given day
We will meet in heaven soon and be on our way
Oh Nancy V…Oh Nancy V
Oh Nancy V...Oh Nancy V…made of golden hair
Sunshine came along with thee and love was in the air
Oh Nancy V…Oh Nancy V
