Randall “Randy” Clark Pogue passed away peacefully at the age of 74 at home on July 22nd, 2023. A lover of animals and devoted family man, Randy leaves behind his son Kevin (Melinda) Pogue, his sisters Judie Cummins and Marcie Pogue, his niece Christine (Carl) Peterson, his nephew Scott Benner, his nephew Jeff (Melanie) Mossinger, a very disappointing San Diego Padres team, and many other beloved relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife Eileen Pogue and his parents Chet and Vonsceil Pogue.
Born in Whittier, CA, Randy graduated from San Diego State University and resided in the San Diego area for over 54 years. Randy loved the horse races at Del Mar (and other southern California racetracks), the history of Las Vegas, and sports (especially baseball and golf). Randy also enjoyed traveling to Las Vegas, the central coast of California, and Hawai’i.
A memorial service and celebration of life will take place at 12pm on Friday, September 8th at Eternal Hills Cemetery in Oceanside. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Escondido Humane Society in honor of his cats Rusty, Sweet Pea, and Sassy is preferred.
