Robert went to Carlsbad High School and graduated at Mira Costa College where he earned an Auto Mechanics certificate. He worked at the City of Carlsbad as an auto technician. In his spare time, he liked working as a handy man on cars and on the house as well as helping people.
He loved visiting museums, National Parks and traveling. He treasured spending time with his family and being with his nieces and nephews.
He especially cherished being with his beloved of many years, Sueanne. They spent almost all their free time together enjoying each other’s company. Their favorite pastime was going to Tamarack beach, watching the waves and listening to the sounds of the ocean.
He will truly be missed by his mother, Shigeko Hoernlein, his father, Harold Magness, his sisters Roberta and Margie, his partner Sueanne and his nieces and nephews, Nakia, Kimiko and Akeo.
