Rose Marie San Miguel

Rose Marie “Betty” San Miguel went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on February 25, 2021. Rose Marie was born in San Diego, CA on April 28, 1930. Rose Marie lived in Vista, CA since 1940 and was married to Arthur San Miguel from 1948 to his passing in 2017, 69 years. Rose Marie and Arthur had six children; their youngest child Mary Jane San Miguel preceded their deaths in 1965 at the tender age of three. Rose Marie is survived by her sons, Robert and Sherrie San Miguel of Post Falls, Idaho, Rick and Connie San Miguel of Gallatin, Tennessee, Roy and Gina San Miguel of Murrieta, CA, daughter Cindy and Bill Zimmerman of Oceanside, CA and son David and Graciy San Miguel of San Clemente, CA, along with 15 grandchildren and 25 great grand-children.

Rose Marie San Miguel was employed by Vista School District as an English Second Language teacher’s aide for 25 years, at Santa Fe, Bobier, Crestview and Vista High schools during her tenure. Rose Marie had fond memories of those she assisted transitioning to learning English and the American culture. As a long time resident of Vista, she enjoyed living and raising her family and seeing Vista grow from a small community of 5,000 to over 100,000 today.

Over the years Rose Marie attended Wesleyan church in the Vista barrio, Vista Christian Church, Buena Vista Baptist, Vista Christian Fellowship, Trinity Christian, and Grace Chapel. Rose Marie was an avid reader of the Bible and her legacy of faith will live on in her children, grand-children, and generations to come. Amen.
