Samuel lived a life defined by strength, service, and presence.
A proud and devoted member of the United States Marine Corps, Sammy retired with the distinguished rank of Master Gunnery Sergeant (E-9) after 30 years of honorable service. His career carried him across the country and around the world, from North Carolina and New York to Japan and ultimately Oceanside, California. He was deeply influential throughout his duty stations, respected for his leadership, discipline, and unwavering commitment to the Corps.

Beyond his service, Samuel was known for his strong will, fiery spirit, and unmistakable personality. He was fun, personable, and carried a presence that filled any room. He loved poker, dancing, and hosting gatherings where family and friends came together. His home was often a place of laughter, storytelling, and connection.

Samuel was preceded in death by his parents, Sam Davis and Lucy Clark; and his siblings, Bud, Rascoe, Georgia, and Mary.
He leaves behind his former spouse, Rosa Davis; his children, Ronald, Monique, Samuel, Sean, Jarrel, and Jamal; along with numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren who will continue his legacy.
His family carries forward the values he embodied. Resilience, loyalty, and courage.
Samuel Davis Jr.’s life was one of service, influence, and enduring impact. His presence will be deeply missed, but his legacy lives on in the generations he shaped and the lives he touched around the world.
