Selina Pacheco Kriesel

Selina P Kriesel was born on May 17, 1930 in Mora, New Mexico to Elijio Pacheco and Frances Pacheco nee Martinez. She passed away May 28, 2014 in Vista, California surrounded by family at the age of 84 years and 11 days.

In December 1943, she was married to Anthony Andrade in Gilcrest, Colorado. A daughter, Frances, and son, Kenneth, were born from this union. On November 18, 1966, she was married to Erwin Kriesel in Denver, Colorado. Their daughter, Carol, was born from this union.

Selina attended Greeley Elementary and Junior High school and attended the Oceanside College of Beauty where she graduated with her esthetician and beautician licenses. With a passion for learning new things and a love for teaching others, Selina earned her Instructor’s Certification and continued to teach at beauty schools across the country until she retired from teaching at the Royale College of Beauty of Temecula in 2004 at the age of 74 years old.

Selina also enjoyed playing bingo, was a skilled seamstress and cherished spending time with her family. She was an avid dancer and danced through life while encouraging others to try and learn new things.

Selina was preceded in death by her mother, father, stepmother and infant great-grandson, Matthew Sanford. She is survived by her sisters Martha and husband Joe Rico, Bertha Magana and brothers David Gonzales, Leo and wife Diane Pacheco. Children Frances Andrade, Kenneth and wife Mary Andrade and Carol Kriesel. Grandchildren Kim and husband Jeff Callies, Patrisha Sanford, Julio Andrade, Anthony Andrade and Adrianna Andrade. Six great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews and many friends who will miss her greatly.

Services will be held on Wednesday, June 11, 2014 with a rosary lead at 9:30am followed by a Funeral at 10:00am held at St. Patrick’s Church: 3821 Adams St, Carlsbad. Graveside and burial services following will be held at Eternal Hills: 1999 El Camino Real, Oceanside. Reception for attendees and those wishing to remember Selina with friends and family will be held at the Heritage Hall (old St. Patrick’s church) at Magee Park: 258 Beach Ave, Carlsbad.

Arrangements are under the direction of Eternal Hills Memorial Park, Mortuary, and Crematory, Oceanside, California.
