Sunrise March 31, 1942 to Sunset May 5, 2020
Tannie Williams was born to his proud parents Luis Colin and Pearlie Williams in Moscow, Arkansans on march 31, 1942. I was a family of 8 children. His childhood was spent there before the family relocated to Kansas City Missouri.
In the late 60’s he left Kansas City in search of a more fulfilled life. After traveling; he settled in San Diego, California where he met the of his dreams. He and Patricia Mae Matthews were joined together and to this union two children were born, Gloria Jacqueline and David Alexander.
To his California family and friends he was affectionately know as Willie or William. Barbequing and cooking for the family get together was his passion. His specialties were braised short ribs, baby rack ribs, potato salad and brownies. Willie enjoyed family life and was always the life of the party. He had the best sense of humor and love to celebrate life. He was a great father, brother, grandfather and friend. He always had a no worries attitude and always made you feel like everything was going to be alright.
Tannie (Willie) worked as a contract plumber and did many large projects in town and made quite a name for himself with his impeccable work ethic, service and humor. He was always in demand and made a great living for he and his family.
After retiring in 2007, he enjoyed gardening until his health began to decline. A very special friend, brother and fellow plumbing comrade Alan D Lewis took great care of him when family was absent getting him to the DR, running various errands and just being a great “best friend” to Tannie from the beginning to the end.
Tannie quietly slipped away from this physical Earth with family and loved ones by his side on May 5, 2020.
His parents, wife, daughter and 3 brothers and 2 sisters preceded him in death.
He leaves David Williams his son and two grandsons Ellis Williams and Colin Campbell and 2 brothers Edward Earl and John Clifton Williams and a large family of niece’s nephews, cousins and loving friends.
His Passing was so deeply felt by all that loved him.
