Tiodulo “Ted” Reyes Sanchez aka “Pee Wee” was born in a small rural Texas town on January 9, 1933. In 1937, dad Luis Sr. took his young family to California, to the small seaside town of Oceanside. The Sanchez family grew to seven boys and one girl: Tony, Raymond, Luis, Ted, Emma, Henry, Joe and Valdo.
Ted helped support his family by working in the fields. Ted later landed a civil service job at Camp Pendleton, where he worked for 30 years.
Ted loved playing his guitar and listening to rock and roll, mariachi, ranchero, trio and huapango music. He loved Oceanside, the beach, the pier, fishing, boxing, gardening, and he loved his Eastside neighborhood, where he lived and died in the same home where he grew up.
On May 19, 2022, the Lord took Ted at his home where he had taken loving care of his mom Candelaria and her sister, Tia Filomena. Ted was preceded in death by his parents Luis and Candelaria Sanchez; his aunt Tia Filomena; and his brothers Joe, Tony, Raymond, Luis and sister Emma. Ted is survived by his brothers Henry and Valdo and a host of brothers- and sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, cousins, and their children and grandchildren.
All services will be held at Eternal Hills Memorial Park in Oceanside, California on Friday, June 17, 2022, with the viewing at the Chapel from 8 am to 10 am, Rosary to be recited at 9 am. His Celebration of Life will begin at 10 am, at the same Chapel, to be followed by a graveside observance.
