Timothy Soto

Tim was born in Texas on November 28th, 1932 to Tim and Ella Soto and he was the 7th son amongst his nine brothers and sisters. Tim grew up on the family farm in Texas and left home as a young man at the age of 17 and joined the United States Marine Corp to serve his country, which landed him at Camp Pendleton, CA. Tim served in the USMC and was a decorated Marine earning a Purple Heart for his bravery in the Korean War. He was a true American Patriot and loved his country. He wore his Purple Heart ball cap with immense pride and we honor his service to our country.

Tim met his first wife, Bertha in Oceanside and they established their home here in Carlsbad and had two beautiful children together, Rick and Rhonda. In March 1982, Tim met and married Sherli, and they were happily married for 20 years until her passing in 2002. Tim loved traveling with Sherli and together they covered a good portion of the United States of America in their motor home. They also loved country western dancing and are probably now dancing together in heaven.

Tim worked for the majority of his life as a Truck Driver for Bob Lynch Trucking and then later on for Hanson’s as a Heavy Equipment Operator. He was a hard worker and a loyal employee.

Tim is survived by his children; Rick Soto, and Rhonda Strange, her husband Gary Strange, step children; Ellena Wenger and her husband Bryan, Kori Dolkas and Jolie Cash, grandchildren; Tim, Eric, Kelly, Kristin, Troy, Christine, step grandchildren; Dustin, Chelsey, Whitney, Constantine, Chloe and Daniel and great grandchildren; Tyson, Jaymond, Zakia and Denzi and step great grandchildren; Austin, Peyton, Dalton, Berkley, Boden, Costa and Ezekiel.

Celebration of Life services will be held at North Coast Calvary Chapel in Carlsbad, on Friday, June 21, 2019 at 10:30am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or Season’s Hospice who graciously cared for Tim in his final hours before joining our Lord and Savior and his beloved wife, Sherli.
