

1. With his family by his side, Todd Christopher Hargis or Grim (as many knew him) entered into eternal peace. He left this earth on Wednesday July 31 2013 at 710 PM. Todd was born on January 28, 1977 in West Covina, California. At the age of 36 he had become a well accomplished father, son, brother and friend.
-Todd Hargis is surveyed by his Mother Lori, Son Johnny, Wife Gina, Brother John, Brother-in-law Richie, Sister-in laws Ciara and Cindy, Nice Scarlett, and Nephews Sebastian, Anthony and Marcus.
BIOGRAPHY
-Todd was a proud NDC (Navy Diver Chief). He had proven himself without a doubt as a DSWS (Diving Salvage Warfare Specialist). When he first entered the Navy in 1997 he never thought he would be in it for the ling run. However, after he graduated from dive school in September of 2001, he found his calling. In his career in the Navy he survived under the following commands. USS McKee, USS Bunker Hill intermediate maintenance facility Bangor Washington, Mobile Dive salvage Unit 1, SEAL Delivery Vehicle (SDV) Unit 1, Spacial Warfare and 1st Marine Marine Special Operations Battalion. He held many titles while serving in the Navy to include Dive Supervisor, Chamber Supervisor, DDS Hanger Supervisor, DDS Tender, DDS Trunk Operator, DDS Crewman and DDS Deck Captain. Over his many evaluations the continuing theme from his Reporting Seniors was that Todd lead from the front and always put his men first, Always mentoring, always teaching, always guiding. One excerpt stated that Chief Petty Officer Hargis Clearly outperformed his peers and is an absolute supper start. In 2008 while at SDV 1 Todds superior performance was recognized and he was awarded the commands Sailor of the Year. Todd was was looking forward to working with the MARSOC team and was looking forward to support upcoming operational commitments. Todd has several nick names in the Navy to include Todd Hardass or Horrible Hargis this proves to us that he cared for his fellow Sailors and Servicemen, he had a reputation of being stern and by the book due to the severe consequences of his work and the nature of his rate. Todd is highly respected in both the Navy Diving and Special Operations Communities.

-He lived in his home town of Oceanside, California, where he was an avid surfer and Outdoorsman. Todd was a well-groomed, kindhearted, fearless leader. His actions and accomplishments earned the respect and loyalty of his family, friends and fellow Sailors. He especially loved to create awesome memories with all the people he cared for.
-The ashes of Todd Christopher Hargis will remain at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery, 1800 Cabrillo Drive. San Diego, California. A memorial service will be held on August 13, 2013 at 2:00 PM sharp.
