

Mr. Lê is survived by his wife, Lê Thị Kiêm Huê (Oceanside); daughters, Cathy Sukaromya (Kansas City); Stephanie Lê (San Diego); siblings, Lê Vân Minh (Westminster); Lê Vân Huệ (Oklahoma City); Lê Thị Hương (Minneapolis); Lê Thị Vân (Visalia); Lê Thị Thu (Garden Grove); Lê Thị Xuân Nga (Garden Grove); Lê Vân Phủỏng (Dallas); and grandsons, Colin Sukaromya (Kansas City), Alexander Sukaromya (Kansas City), and Bodhi Goldstein (San Diego).
He is preceded in death by his father Lê Vân Thông (Việt Nam) and mother Nguyễn Thị Châu (Việt Nam). Trí was born on April 19, 1949 in Tân An, Việt Nam and married Lê Thị Kiêm Hue, his high school sweetheart in 1974. They came to the United States as South Vietnamese refugees in 1975 at the fall of Saigon. Trí graduated from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock in 1987 with a degree in Engineering. After moving to Grandview, Missouri, Trí began working for Rival Manufacturing as a Manufacturing Engineer. Married for 42 years, the couple welcomed two children into their home and Trí set about teaching them the importance of education, family, and meditation. His daughters remember him as a patient, strong, kind, generous and present father who was always loving and encouraging.
Trí was an accomplished guitar and piano player and enjoyed playing with friends. He was good with his hands and could build and fix anything. He was dedicated to his family and passionate about helping people. He was an active and dedicated member of the Phổ Hiền Temple for over 30 years and two-term president of the Vietnamese Buddhist Association of Kansas City.
A funeral is scheduled for 8:00 AM on October 7, 2016 at Eternal Hills Memorial Park. Venerables Thích Phước Châu, Thích Tín Mãn, Thích Tín Hòa, and Thích Nữ Nguyên Bổn will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Trí's life. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to a charity of your choice in honor of Mr. Lê. Condolences can be sent to www.eternalhillsmortuary.com.
