I worked with Vicky in the early 70's at a hospital in Newport Beach. It was a wonderful environment as we were situated in a large office overlooking the front sitting area. We were a tight office. One of the best morale boosters was Victoria. She was in-charge of the medicare department. But she was savvy in all arena's. And she was like a big sister to many of us younger fledglings. She was funny, kind, fair, generous with her time. I remembered her so well after 40+ years that last month I put her name in Google.....not sure why but here I am. I'll see you again Vicky. God bless you sweet girl.

I met Vicky while she was with CCC.  We spent time in Washington, DC visiting members of the legislature.  I just recently asked about her and learned of her passing.  I have the utmost respect and admiration for Vicky.  Her loved ones have my deepest sympathy.  I will light a candle in her honor at the San Luis Rey Mission Chapel.

I just found out that Vicky had passed on. I worked for her at Pomerado Hospital and she promoted me to Manager of the Business office. She will be missed. She was not only my boss but a wonderful friend and I wish her family my deepest sympathy. She was a dear, dear person.  Jackie Kinkel

I met Vicky at Pomerado Hospital when she worked in the business office.I then had the pleasure of being a department manager under her excellent leadership. As as been said before Vicky lead by example and she had a smile and kind words for all staff no matter their job position. She will be missed. My condolences to Lee and family.

Vicky and I were colleagues at PPHS in the late 80s and early 90s. We were fortunate to be part of the BEST health care leadership team in that area under the late Bob Edwards. Vicky was a great listener, a critical thinker, completely honest, and truly humble, a  very rare combo in healthcare executives. Vicky was solid. She MADE a difference.

Vicki always had a smile and a hug for me whether it was in the PPHS days or when we "bumped into" each other in Carlsbad. She was bright, loving, genuinely interested in everyone and a great leader by example.  She has left us far too soon.  My deepest condolences to her family.

I met Vicky at Palomar Medical Center when she hired me as one of her Assistant Administrators.  I was impressed that despite the size of the PPHS organization, Vicky knew the names of most employees she met in the hallway.   I learned the art of hospital administration at the hands of a master.

She will be sorely missed.

I have nothing but the warmest memories of Vicky. When I was Med Director of Cardiology at Palomar I would have a variety of meetings with Vicky. Whether the topic was heart failure management or lipid clinic development, Vicky had always researched the topic beforehand and had articles and notes prepared in purple folder. She was a delight to work with.
When our medical group chose Sharp Community Medical Group as our IPA (the first group in the area to go with SCMG) the hospital was a bit leery of the association but Vicky stepped in and said we must support the doctors in the area and supported us.
She was in a class by herself.

Vicky is an exceptional leader with her kind smile that is always in my mind.  She is inspirational, positive, competence with a touch of sense of humor.  We definitely lost a great leader.  My condolences to her family.

I met Vicky at Pomerado Hospital, when it was family.  She was one of the few leaders that lead by example.  No one was beneath her regardless of the position / job held at Pomerado.  In her eyes everyone was important.

I couldn't have asked for a better example of a superb leader.  Our loss is heaven's gain!

There are defining moments where you meet someone who makes a positive impact on you, and you are spurred to action to follow a similar career path.  Vicki was an eloquent example of a leader who was kind, considerate, and led by positive example.  She was the whole package,  and more.  I am a better person for having known her.  My heart goes out to all of her family and friends.   -

I am shocked at the passing of Vicky when I saw her picture in today's local paper. I reported to Vicky at Sharp and remember her smile, support, encouragement and putting patient safety first. Our paths have not crossed since but I will always appreciate her contributions as a mentor too. My condolences to Vicky's family.

I met Vicky when I first began working at Palomar Pomerado Health.  She wad such a positive attitude and kind, caring manner.  She always took time to speak to the employees in the hallway or in the cafeteria - she was never too busy to say "hello".
She stopped by my office many years later at Pomerado when she was there visiting a friend.  We had a nice visit and caught up on mutual work people we both knew.  She looked great at that time and it was not that long ago.  What a loss to her family and to the community.

Vicky was a mentor, friend and collegue who always took time for everyone.  Vicky never forgot a name and greeted everyone with her warm smile.  Vicky's lifetime accomplishments are exemplary of the love she had for healthcare and the well being of the communities she served.  What a Lady.......

Vicky truly was a special person - those who knew her are so fortunate she came into their lives - her smile, laughter and optimism shall  be remembered - my thoughts and prayers to Lee and the rest of the family.

Vicky was my first mentor in health care management. She watched me struggle in disbelief when I learned that the State of California would not permit a Blood Donor Center in Villa Pomerado.  The Donor Center's success was primarily due to the efforts of the Palomar Pomerado Auxiliary.  But, regulators decided that one cannot have a Blood Donor Center in a Skilled Nursing Facility.  Vicky gave me her precious time and accompanied me when I made my plea to the State.  She predicted all that would follow.  She held my hand through the disappointment.  Then, she told me to find another way to make it happen.  And, we did!

Vicki was an inspiration to all who worked with her. She was a true leader and always had a positive influence on her peers. May she rest in peace and may great comfort be with her family.

Vicky's love of life and sense of humor will always be my fondest memory of her.  She was an outstanding Treasurer for the Board of Director's at St. Paul's Senior Homes & Services and I will truly miss her.

Vicky was a positive influence on my life. I enjoyed working with her when we were both on the MRI Board. I was so glad for her and the Council when I heard that she would be the next CEO. My thoughts go out to Lee and her family. She will be missed by remembered by everyone that she touched.

I had the honor of serving with Vicky on the Board of St. Paul's.  I feel like I only knew her a short time and yet in that short time, my life was enriched by her insights, her humor and compassion.  She will be truly missed by many and leaves an incredible legacy.

I will always remember Vicky as a wonderful person to work for, a mentor and, best of all, a friend.  She was a warm and sincere person with a wonderful sense of humor and I am thankful for the years of friendship and time we had working together.  Whenever I feel like giving up, I think of Vicky saying "just keep swimming" and it makes me smile and gives me the encouragement I need to keep going.  I am deeply saddened by her passing and send my condolences to Lee and all of her family and friends.  After following her journey on Care Pages, I know that she was surrounded with love and support from all that knew her and I know that all of the love and support carried her through her illness and passing. I will miss you Vicky.

You will be missed but never forgotten Victoria. My time with you was always pleasant. You always had a way of making me smile. It was a pleasure assisting you with your I.T. needs. Thank you for making me always feel welcomed.
