Yoshitaka Yamamoto

Yoshitaka Yamamoto was born in Yamaguchi Prefecture, Japan on February 15th, 1962. Since his father worked as a medical doctor, he grew up in an environment of helping others. He came to the United States somewhere around in 1985, married to his wife years later, then his son, Shohei arrived. After then, he devoted most of his life for his son and the people around him. His uplifting personality and character always left a strong impression in the people he had met in his life. Whether going through the good times or the bad, he was the type of person to always show his concern for others and often gave advice for those in need of social support. Although very friendly and having an amiable personality, he didn’t hesitate to stand up for himself during an uncongenial altercation. His general sense of compassion and genuity was proven time and time again as he radiated a sense of joyous aura in the air as a new friendship arise afterwards.

To help shape the foundation for his son’s character, he took his son to a Kyokushin karate dojo in Oceanside when Shohei was at the age of six. Not only did he seek virility, he furthermore pursued martial arts as a way to connect with others and to promote a sense of spiritual maturity for his son. He also took his son to train in Los Angeles and at the Manhattan Beach kyokushin karate dojo to further expand on knowledge and skill. In his later years, he took his son to train under different martial arts studios, such as inosanto academy and CSW as a next step in pursuing their dream and to cultivate a spirit of self growth. His character was well known throughout the world as him and his son went on voyages across the globe to compete in the international circuit.

He always pursued the dream with his son of opening up a kyokushin karate dojo in the near future. Whether the age, race or gender, he never seemed to discriminate based on appearance, as he correspondingly treated others under equal grounds. He mentioned that he wanted to help others by providing technical and spiritual guidance just the way he did for his son. Without a doubt, his genuine oversight will remain in our hearts and his spirit will carry on as he will continue to help guide us to reaching spiritual glory.
