

Carl J. Castro, 77, of Wellesley Island, N.Y. answered the Lord’s call on November, 20th, 2015. Carl was married to the love of his life for 53 years, Sharon (Hutchison). He was the father of four children and seven grandchildren who he loved dearly.
Carl was a pioneer in the culinary world, establishing educational programs at the City College of San Francisco. His abilities as a chef and educator brought him from Northern California to New Orleans where he started his family.
Carl earned many honorary degrees and awards throughout his career. He was a founding member and president of the American Culinary Federation, Jefferson County Chapter.
Carl shared his joy and knowledge with everyone he touched through great conversation. He loved antique car restoration, gardening, fishing, traveling and ‘tinkering’ with antiques, as he was able to fix anything.
Carl is survived by his wife Sharon; son Mark of Jay, VT, son Keith (Lanai) of New Russia, NY, daughter Chrysann (Nathan) Barker of Morristown, NY, and son Kevin of Alexandria Bay, NY; seven grandchildren, Logan, Kayleigh, Keagan, Meagan, Halle, Ryan and Ian. His brother David (Nancy) Castro of Los Gatos, CA, sister Carol (Dennis) Misner of Oregon, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. Carl was preceded in death by his father, Cecil Ygnacio and mother, Maybelle.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, November 29, 2015 at 11 am at the First Congregational Church of Morristown with Pastor David Sheppard. Sand Street, Brier Hill, NY 13614. There will be no public calling hours. Arrangements are with the Fox & Murray Funeral Home.
