Catherine D. Dow

Funeral services for Catherine D. Dow, age 61 of Lisbon will be held on Sunday (May 3, 2015) at 2:00pm at the Fox & Murray Funeral Home with Pastor Floyd McCallum officiating. Burial will be at a later date at White Church Cemetery in Lisbon.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday (May 2, 2015) from 4:00 – 8:00pm at the funeral home. Mrs. Dow passed away at the Canton-Potsdam Hospital on Wednesday evening (April 29, 2015) surrounded by her loving family.

Surviving is her husband Timothy Dow; a daughter Chera Davison & her husband Jason all of Lisbon; a son Christopher Geary & his wife Katie of Ogdensburg; grandchildren Ivey, Cooper, Kinslee, Mazelyn & Kelten Davison and Brinlee & Laney Geary; her father Donald Murphy of Hayward, CA; two brothers Richard Norris & his wife Mary of California and Thomas Murphy & his wife Cindy of Arizona; a step-brother Steven Murphy & his wife Kelley of California; a step-sister Sherri Stroat & her husband Michael of Wyoming; an aunt Mary Oldson of Grandbury, TX along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends. She was predeceased by her mother Frances Murphy and a step-mother Marla Murphy.

Cathy was born on October 28, 1953 in Philadelphia PA, a daughter of Donald & Frances (White) Murphy. She graduated from Clayton Valley High School in Concord, CA and later relocated to Northern NY.

During her career she was employed at the St. Lawrence Psychiatric Center as a therapy aide, co-owned & operated McCalls Hotel & Bar, was a laborer at Mitel Networks Inc., and was an aide at the Sunmount Developmental Center where she retired from in 2008. Cathy enjoyed going to the casino, watching NASCAR, traveling, gardening, spending time around her pool, socializing with friends and spending time with her grandchildren.
