

Funeral services for David M. O’Donnell, age 68 Heuvelton will be held on Thursday (Sept 10, 2015) at 11:00am at the Fox & Murray Funeral Home with Rev. Walter Smith officiating. Burial will follow the service at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Ogdensburg.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 4-8pm and again on Thursday morning from 10:00am until 11am the time of the funeral. Mr. O’Donnell passed away Friday (Sept 4, 2015) at Claxton Hepburn Medical Center surrounded by his family.
Surviving is his wife Patricia “Pat” Trombly. His children from a previous marriage, two sons David O’Donnell of Ogdensburg and Steven O’Donnell of Jonestown, PA; a daughter Shelly (Howard) Webb of Troy, NY; a brother Danny O’Donnell of Watertown; sisters Dawn (William) Thomas of TN, Donna Tupper and companion Joel McCune of Henderson Harbor NY, Debra (Harold) Tupper of Gouverneur; grandson Riley David O’Donnell of Jonestown, PA; brother-in-laws Francis (Judy) Trombly of Norwood, Clayton Trombly & companion Schelene Dibble of Ogdensburg, Larry (Carol) Trombly of Louisiana; sister-in-law Mary Lou Witherell (Earle Johnston) Heuvelton, 34 nieces & nephews and several great-nieces & nephews.
A brother Grant “Jerry” O’Donnell; sisters Linda (William) Tupper, Wanda & Peggy O’Donnell and sister-in-law Beatrice (Ronald) Bellinger predeceased him.
David was born on November 24, 1946 in Pamelia NY, a son of the late Grant & Thelma (Halladay) O’Donnell. He attended North Country Schools for his education, and enlisted in the US Army Reserves for 6 years. A previous marriage to Darlene Empson ended in divorce, and he later found happiness with Patricia Trombly whose companionship he enjoyed for 20 years prior to the couple being married in 1993.
During his career he worked construction in Pennsylvania and NY prior to becoming employed with Gouverneur Roofing and Sheet Metal for 20 years. He retired in 2011. Dave found great satisfaction from helping others, operating heavy equipment, building his dream cabin, clearing trails, cutting wood, hunting, fishing, constructing his visions and spending time with his family and friends.
