

Funeral services for Deborah J. Douglas, age 55 of Grove St. in Ogdensburg will be held on Friday at 2:00pm at the Fox & Murray Funeral Home with Rev. F. James Shurtleff officiating. Burial will be in the spring at Notre Dame Cemetery.
Calling hours will be held also on Friday from 12:00 to 2:00pm at the funeral home. Ms. Douglas passed away Friday (March 7, 2014) at the Claxton Hepburn Medical Center surrounded by her family.
Surviving is her daughter Alyssa Douglas, her longtime companion Roy LaFave and grandson Jacob LaFave all of Ogdensburg; three sisters Brenda & Charlie Rogers of Hammond, Lisa & David Chateau of Ogdensburg and Dawn Youngs of Ogdensburg; five brothers Weldon Jr. & Mary Jane Youngs of Madrid, Brian Youngs and Kenneth Youngs of Hammond, Mark & Heidi Youngs of PA and Jamie Youngs of Potsdam.
Debbie was born on November 5, 1958 in Watertown, NY a daughter of the late Weldon H. & Joan E. (Burker) Youngs. She graduated from Ogdensburg Free Academy in 1977 and later married Richard Douglas. He predeceased her in 1992. She began her career in 1979 at the St. Lawrence Psychiatric Center where she worked until 2012 as dietary aid until becoming ill. She enjoyed shopping, yard sales, watching TV, fishing, collecting clowns, watching football and being with her family especially her grandson Jacob.
