Born on March 5, 1939, in Ogdensburg, Donna was the daughter of Allen and Emma (Dionne) Rupert. She was a proud graduate of St. Mary's Academy. On September 28, 1978, she married the love of her life, Ronald Bowden, in Lisbon, beginning a marriage grounded in companionship, laughter, and unwavering support.
Donna dedicated much of her life to caring for others. She worked for NY Telephone and Acco Brands before finding her calling at the St. Lawrence Psychiatric Center, where she served as a therapy aide for 26 years. Her kindness, patience, and gentle spirit made a lasting difference in the lives of the individuals and families she served. She retired in 1994.
Outside of her work, Donna embraced life’s simple joys. She loved boating along the river, gatherings with family, and traveling to new places. She found quiet happiness in crossword puzzles, reading, and tending to her flower gardens, where her nurturing touch was evident in every bloom. Above all, she treasured time spent with those she loved, creating memories that will continue to bring comfort and smiles to her family.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Lisbon Volunteer Fire Department in her honor. Condolences and fond memories may be shared online at www.foxandmurrayfuneralhome.com.
