

Funeral services for Erle S. LaComb, age 69 of Ogdensburg will be held at 10:00am on Monday April 24, 2017 at Notre Dame Church with Rev. F. James Shurtleff officiating. Entombment will be at Foxwood Memorial Park with military honors.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 3:00 – 7:00pm at the Fox & Murray Funeral Home. Mr. LaComb passed away on Wednesday morning (April 19, 2017) at St. Joseph’s Home surrounded by his loving family.
Surviving is his wife Rona “Roni” LaComb of Ogdensburg; a daughter Amy (Kevin) Nugent of Ogdensburg; sons Mickey (Maureen) Fennessy of Longs, SC, Randy Fennessy of Liverpool and Bobby Fennessy of Ogdensburg; five brothers Donald “Doc” (Linda) LaComb of Ogdensburg, Lawrence “Mike” (Mary) of Ogdensburg, Peter (Lee) LaComb of Jacksonville, FL, Kevin (Sherrie) LaComb of Lancaster, CA and Denis LaComb of Ogdensburg; six sisters Mary “Connie” (James) Simpson of Carthage, Martha (George) Mordica of Levinworth, KS, Jewel LaComb of Ogdensburg, Brenda (Greg) Manke of Northridge, CA, Bridget Koban of Ogdensburg and Carmen Downing of Heuvelton; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews & cousins.
A brother Augustus “Gus” LaComb III and a granddaughter Chelsea Fennessy predeceased him.
Erle was born on January 10, 1948 in Ogdensburg NY, a son of the late Augustus & Katherine (Sharland) LaComb II. He graduated from Ogdensburg Free Academy and attended Oswego State. He was enlisted in the United States Navy from July 1968 to February 1973 and married Rona “Roni” (Lesperance) Fennessy on June 5, 1972 in Lynn, Massachusettes.
During his career he worked for Wonder Bread and Millbrook as a branch manager, owned and operated Sunrise Bakery, did construction work for a period and later became employed with the NYS Department of Corrections as an officer for 23 years. He enjoyed playing shuffle board, shooting craps, going to the casino, attending his children’s hockey games and spending time with his family.
