

Erwin is survived by his four children: James Bogardus of Ogdensburg, Kathy Durham of Ogdensburg, Deborah Rivers of Belmont, NY, and Tammy (Crispian) Briggs of Burke, NY. He leaves behind his beloved grandchildren: Jimmy Brossoit, Brittany Bogardus, Tiffany Thompson, Andrew, Travis & Mary Jean Durham, Dominic, Cameron, Aiden, and Mia Dailey, as well as his grandsons Quentin, Ethan Briggs, and Kaleb Daily, along with several great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Karen; his son, Andrew Bogardus; and his siblings: David and Donny Bogardus, Mary Silver, and Laura Davis.
Erwin was born on July 4, 1950, in Ogdensburg, to the late Lyle and Bessie (Woodcock) Bogardus. He graduated from Heuvelton Central School and was later married to Karen Lottie.
For many years, Erwin worked tirelessly, running his own farm and scrap metal business. He also enjoyed making maple syrup, buying and selling horses, hauling livestock, and assisting others with farm work. In addition to his work, Erwin was passionate about hunting and cherished spending time with his grandchildren.
Erwin's family and friends will fondly remember him for his hard work, caring nature, and his love for the outdoors and his family. He will be greatly missed.
