

Gordon N. Cameron Jr., age 68 of Ogdensburg passed away on Thursday (June 6, 2024) at the Albany Medical Center surrounded by family. There will be a Celebration of Life held at a time to be determined.
Surviving is his wife Mary; children Charitie Thornhill (Daryll Lambert) of Odessa, Nicholas Cameron of Athens, PA; step-children Chris Christian of Florida, Greg Christian address unknown, Robin Robinson of Syracuse and Michelle LaJoy of Ogdensburg; grandchildren Austin Cameron, Rayna Cameron, Jaxon Lambert, Declan Cameron, Mariska Cameron, Estin Cameron, Sophia Cameron, Katrina LaJoy, Danielle LaJoy, Jakob Robinson, Jeffrey Robinson and Jimmy Robinson; along with numerous great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by a grandson Nathan LaJoy.
Gordon was born on June 23, 1955 in Ogdensburg, a son of the late Gordon Cameron Sr. & Stella “Sally” Dishaw. He graduated from Ogdensburg Free Academy and continued his education at SUNY Canton majoring in Automotive Technology. He later joined the US Airforce and was honorable discharged due to injury in 1975.
During his career he worked as a mechanic for Collins Motors, private mechanics for family and friends around the area, and eventually became the parts manager for NAPA and Advance Auto until he retired.
Gordon was a member of the VFW and AmVets. He enjoyed camping, boating, fishing, spending time on the St. Lawrence River, hunting, outdoor activities and spending time with his family.
