

Karen R. Snyder, age 72 of Oswego and formerly of Pulaski, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 12, 2025, with family at her side at the Pontiac Nursing Home in Oswego. Visitation will be held on Saturday (January 18, 2025) from 12:00pm to 2:00pm at the Fox & Murray Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow at 2:00pm with Rev. Rob Schirmer officiating. Burial will be in the spring at the Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Hammond.
She is survived by her three children, Cherie Snyder of Pulaski, Richard (Tara) Snyder of Mexico, NY, and Jessica (Jason) Iannuzzo of Syracuse; three grandchildren, Kara Braley, Madison Snyder, and Henry Snyder; one great grandchild, Vivian; her loving mother Beryl Gibson and brother Kevin, both of Chippewa Bay, NY; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Karen was predeceased by her husband James Snyder, father Richard Gibson, and a sister Sandra Warren.
Karen was born July 25, 1952 in Watertown, NY to Richard & Beryl (Petrie) Gibson. She graduated as salutatorian from Hammond Central School in 1970 and wed Jim Snyder later that year. During his military service they resided in Germany, an experience Karen always treasured. Upon returning to NY, she settled in Pulaski, where she spent 40 years as a homemaker and a devoted mother. Those years included regular visits to Chippewa, where she loved the river, and cherished gatherings with family and friends. Karen enjoyed swimming, reading, singing, and cooking.
