Lois D. Glass

Funeral services for Lois D. Glass age 89, formerly of Lisbon, will be held on Wednesday (June 15, 2016) at 10:00 am at the First Congregational Church of Lisbon with Rev. Walter Smith officiating. Burial will follow the service at the Flackville Cemetery.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday (June 14, 2016) from 2-4 & 6-8 pm at the Fox & Murray Funeral Home. Mrs. Glass passed away at the Riverledge Healthcare Facility early Friday morning.

Surviving is her son William (Robin) Glass of Lisbon; a daughter Linda (David) Bussinger of St. Petersburg, Fl.; two sisters Dorothy (Jesse) Crawford of Leesburg, Fl., Mary Johnson of Owego, a sister-in-law Ruth Dunn of Raymondville along with several nieces, nephews & cousins.

She was predeceased by her husband S. Howard Glass and two brothers Howard & Edwin Dunn.

Lois was born on July 8, 1926 in Lisbon NY, a daughter of the late Homer & Gladys (Jones) Dunn. She graduated from OFA in 1946 and continued her education at the Syracuse Beauty School. On July 23, 1953 she married S. Howard Glass at the First Congregational Church in Lisbon with Rev. Allen G. Bowering officiating.

She and her husband owned and operated Dunn Glass Insurance Agency for 20 years and also operated a beauty shop in her home from 1948 to 1963. She was a member of the First Congregational Church of Lisbon, a charter member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 1342 along with being the past president of the local and St. Lawrence County Auxiliaries.

Lois enjoyed crafts, knitting, volunteering for Hospice for over 15 years and visits with her family. Memorial contributions can be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of St. Lawrence Valley, First Congregational Church Memorial Fund, the Lisbon Fire and Rescue or Flackville Cemetery.
