

Funeral services will be held on May 22, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. at Fox & Murray Funeral Home, Ogdensburg. Burial will follow at the Ogdensburg Cemetery. Visitation hours will also be held on May 22, 2026 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. prior to the funeral at the funeral home.
Lorraine was born on July 17, 1933, in Ogdensburg, daughter of the late William and Mamie Foster Klock. In 1935, Lorraine was crowned Miss Ogdensburg. She graduated from Ogdensburg Free Academy (Class of 1952) and was married to the love of her life, Donald F. Awan, on August 14, 1953, at St. John’s Episcopal Church, with Father Weir officiating.
Throughout her life, Lorraine balanced family, faith, and work with grace and dedication. She was employed at various places during her career including The Photo Stop, New York Telephone Co., and JoAnn Fabrics, while also raising her family and assisting her husband with their family business, The Sports Mart.
Lorraine was admired for her exceptional baking and sewing talents which she generously shared with her family, friends, church, and community through the creation of many wedding cakes, pies, desserts, drapery, alterations, Halloween costumes, middle school band uniforms, and liturgical vestments.
She enjoyed cooking, solving word puzzles, reading, and traveling. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family, whom she deeply cherished. She was a lifetime member of the United Methodist Church in Ogdensburg, where she faithfully served as church treasurer, council member, trustee, and treasurer of the Women’s Group, and was honored as “Woman of the Year” in 1998.
She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star for 75 years.
Lorraine is survived by her loving children Odessa (Ray) Dean of Liverpool, Craig Awan of Ogdensburg, and Cyrena (Rafael) Valladares of Fayetteville, NY; her grandchildren Nathaniel (Kaitlyn) Dean of Chicago, IL, Jared Dean of Liverpool, NY, Arianna (Daniel) Feinberg of Carrollton, TX, Jacob (Savannah) Awan of Ogdensburg, Jaedyn Awan of Ogdensburg, and Rafael and Camila Valladares of Fayetteville, NY; and her cherished great-grandchildren Madelyn, Crosby, and Norah Dean, Levi and Reagan Feinberg, and Lainey Awan.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband Donald Awan, her brother Darrell Klock, and sister-in-law Catherine Robinson Klock.
Lorraine will be remembered for her kind heart, quiet strength, unwavering faith, generous spirit, and devotion to her family and community. Her love and legacy will live on in all who were blessed to know her.
