Paul A. McKeever

A Celebration of Life Service for Paul A. McKeever, age 79 of County Route 10 Heuvelton, will be held on Friday (May 30, 2014) from 6-8pm at the Heuvelton Am Vets Post 1997. Burial will be at Ogdensburg Cemetery at his family’s convenience. Surviving is his wife Norma Venette-McKeever of Heuvelton; two sons Scott & James McKeever of Heuvelton; step-sons Donald (Judy) Venette of Rensselear Falls & David (Stephanie) Venette of Heuvelton, along with eight grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.

An infant daughter Joyce Ann and first wife Esther McKeever predeceased him.

Paul was born on May 19, 1934 in Ogdensburg NY, a son of Allan & Pauline (Paradise) McKeever. He graduated from Ogdensburg Free Academy and enlisted the US Navy in 1953 during the Korean War sailing on the USS Rigel until 1957 when he received his honorable discharge. He married Esther M. Cox, she predeceased him in 2002 and was remarried to Norma (Williams) Venette on June 29, 2013.

Paul owned and operated The Flackville Store & Garage for 29 years with his wife Esther until selling the business to his son Scott in 1991. In retirement Paul stayed busy transporting part-time for Mort Backus & Sons. He was a member of the Heuvelton Am Vets Post 1997, Ogdensburg Acacian Mason Lodge #128 and a member of the Diamond Sportsman Club in S. Colton. He enjoyed dancing, singing karaoke, hunting, fishing, traveling, taking cruises and spending time with his family.
