

Funeral Services for Raymond Charles Johnson, Sr., 61, of 158 High St., Morristown will be held on Friday, July 22, 2011, at 7:00 pm at the Fox & Murray Funeral Home, Ogdensburg with Rev. Philip Caruso, officiating.
Friends may call at the Fox & Murray Funeral Home on Friday from 5:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 7:00 p.m.
Mr. Johnson died at his residence on Monday morning, July 18, 2011 following a battle with cancer.
Surviving are; his wife, Barbara; 3 sons, William and his companion, Barbara Lawton of Morristown, Raymond, Jr. and his wife, Amanda of Ogdensburg, Roy of Ogdensburg; 2 daughters, Antoinette Lottie, and Angela Johnson, both of Ogdensburg; 3 sisters, Mrs. Vernon (Evelyn) Thompson of Texas, Marilyn Denesha of Heuvelton, Mrs. Ronald (Kimberly) Crosby of Texas; 3 brothers, George, and his wife, Iva of Heuvelton, Kelvin and his wife, Della of Texas, David and his wife, Janice of Heuvelton; 17 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild. Several nieces, nephews and cousins survive.
He was born in Ogdensburg, NY on Oct. 28, 1949, the son of the late Charles and Elizabeth Jackson Johnson. He attended Heuvelton schools and was married to Barbara Hooper on July 2, 1971 at St. Raphael’s Church, Heuvelton with Rev. Msgr. Robert Giroulx, officiating. Prior to his marriage he was employed at the former Aiello Cheese plant in Heuvelton, and the couple farmed for many years in the Heuvelton area. For a period in the 1980’s he worked for a contractor who built concrete silos for area farms. More recently, he returned to farming and raised heifers for sale before becoming ill. He enjoyed playing board games, playing cards, and kick ball and baseball with his grandchildren. He was a member of Macomb Grange.
Contributions may be made to Hospice of St. Lawrence Valley, or to the Richard E. Winter Cancer Treatment Center, Ogdensburg.
