
Graveside service for Sadie Mae Farnsworth, age 95 of County Route 10 in Heuvelton will be held on Tuesday (Sept 27, 2011) at 10:00am at the Raymondville Cemetery with Lay Minister Jenni Piatt of the Heuvelton Methodist Church officiating.
There will be no calling hours. Arrangements are with the Fox & Murray Funeral Home. Mrs. Farnsworth died Thursday evening (Sept 22, 2011) surrounded by her family.
Surviving is her daughter Mrs. Arthur (Anna) Merrill of Heuvelton; step-daughters Mrs. Richard (Donna) Kimball of Canton & Mrs. Edward (Geraldine) Sweeney of Florida; a step-son Harvey Farnsworth & his wife Rosemary of Ft. Jackson, NY; two brothers David Gray & his wife Dorothy of Watertown and John Gray of Gouverneur; 18 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, several great-great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews & cousins.
Sadie was predeceased by, a sister Maude Hunter and a brother Albert Gray; two step-sons Dean & Donald Farnsworth
She was born on March 29, 1916 in Winchester, Ontario Canada a daughter of Ross & Alice (Patrick) Gray. She attended Raymondville Schools for her education and married Ray Farnsworth on April 5, 1962 in Phoenix, AZ. He predeceased her in October 1985.
She lived in Norfolk during her younger years and moved to Phoenix, AZ where she worked as a homemaker for 18 years. In 1989 relocated to Heuvelton where she lived with her daughter.
Sadie attended the Heuvelton Methodist Church and enjoyed quilting, playing cards, going for walks, writing letters and spending time with her family. She was an active Girl Scout leader assistant and assisted with the Heuvelton Methodist Church School program.
Memorial donations can be made to The Heuvelton Methodist Church, Hospice of St. Lawrence Valley or the Ogdensburg Volunteer Rescue Squad.
