Sympathy and prayers for Stephen's family and friends.  We all met Steve as a young man when my father managed the airport for Frank Augsbury back in the 60's.  Steve remained a friend attending family functions and in later years stopping by to visit with Rupert and "catch up" on the latest happenings with all their flying buddies. We will always remember the funny stories of the airport "escapades"!

I worked with Steve at Grants and he always had a great story that kept me smiling. We met in 1973 and I considered Steve a good friend. He will be missed. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family & friends.

I met Steve in late 1973 when I first moved to Ogdensburg.  He already had his pilot's license, and loved talking bout flying and the airport, about all of his assorted experiments with chili, and a lot of other things.  We've been friends ever since.  He will be greatly missed.

I ran into Steve for the first time in 18 years - at Phillips - his comment was "what are you doing here?  Wimpy's is open!'  His priorities were always in the right place!

We'll never forget the first time we met Stephen -- we had just purchased his Aunt and Uncle's house next door.  We stopped over after work on Friday to do a walk-through of our first home.  When Ray opened the backdoor to go out on the porch there was a startled Stephen thinking there was a burgler coming out!  Ray said, "Who the hell are you?" and Stephen said, "Who the hell are you?"  Ray answered with "I'm the owner of this house!" and then Stephen explained that this was his Aunt and Uncle's house and that he was keeping an eye on it for them!  They had moved to Florida and left the sale in their lawyers hands.  It had become final today and we were given the keys.  We became friends that day and stayed friends for the last 40 years.  Stephen was a good friend who would do anything for you.  We couldn't have asked for a better neighbor to share our lives with.  He will be missed very much. He's with his wonderful parents now and his first cats, "Whiskey and Soda".  RIP dear friend.

I met Steve years ago as a young kid that was fascinated with flying, and trying to bum an airplane ride. Steve's kindness to an annoying kid began a lifelong friendship. 

We had a lot of fun playing video games, eating his famous chili, telling bad jokes, shooting guns, and talking about flying. 

I got to take the controls of my first plane thanks to Steve, and I enjoyed rides from many people I met via Steve. 

I witnessed a bunch of steel tubes turn into the fuselage of a home built Piper Cub. Steve was a gifted welder, and liked working with his hands. 

My first time driving was under Steve's watchful eye in his old black Volare. It's funny to think back about his opinion that as long as the motor kept running and they kept selling black spray paint, he'd keep driving that car - and he did until it finally died. 

The last time I spoke with Steve was a few years ago. I was up visiting in Ogdensburg and I tried getting together with him, but he was unfortunately busy. "Let's get together for dinner some time" never happened, and I've truly lost a good friend. 

I'm really going to miss Steve, his stories, his laughter, and his friendship. Goodbye old friend - see you on the other side.

Everytime I hear an airplane over my head I'll think of you! RIP dear Steve...thanks for opening my eyes (and ears) to this wonderful and wacky world!
