

Funeral Service for Suzanne C. Urban, age 66 of Franklin Street in Ogdensburg, will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday (April 21, 2015) at the First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Laurena Will officiating. She will be laid to rest at Foxwood Memorial Park at a later date. Ms. Urban passed away late Wednesday evening (April 15, 2015) at Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center with her life partner William H. Flynn and her cousins Sally and Dan Wise by her side.
She is survived by her brother Charles D. Urban of Winter Park, FL; her life partner William H. Flynn of Ogdensburg; cousins Sally and Dan Wise of St. Pete’s Beach, FL along with many aunts, uncles and cousins. She was predeceased by an infant brother Geoffrey Urban.
Suzanne was born on February 23, 1949 in Port Chester NY, a daughter of the late Charles E. and Eunice (Parker) Urban. She graduated from Canton High School and later attended Florida Presbyterian College for a year before transferring to Crane School of Music and SUNY Potsdam where she obtained her Master’s Degree in education. Suzanne was an educator for the Ogdensburg City School District working at Kennedy and Madill Elementary Schools, and later transferring to Ogdensburg Free Academy Middle School where she taught 6th grade until she retired in 2003.
Suzanne enjoyed needle point, cross stitching, making homemade chocolates at Christmas time with her friend Dottie Sharlow, going places and out to lunch with her friends, playing the piano and flute, especially with her friend Warren Wisner, reading, visiting with family in Florida, history, spending time at camp on Wilson Hill, cooking, church activities, and the company of her cat Peaches and Bill’s dog Sadie.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Ogdensburg where she held the Secretary of Trustees position and was a member of the handbell choir. She also served on the Ogdensburg Education Association Negotiating Team, Ed Med Credit Union Supervisory Committee, Ogdensburg Planning Board, National Honor Society and was a past member of the Ogdensburg Community Band and Little River Trio.
