

Carol Joy Bird, 92, of Edmond OK, passed away August 13, 2025. Carol was born in Beaver, OK, December 3, 1932 and was the only child of Loyd and Thelma Mathis. She graduated at the top of her Woodward High School senior class.
Carol married Albert Bird on May 31, 1950 and in 1951 they moved to Oklahoma City. She and Albert were married 60 years before his passing in 2011.
Carol was a loving mother of three children, David, Susanne, and Steve. She was the accountant and much more for the family business, Bird’s Automotive. Later she was a financial advisor. Together Carol and Albert were active members of REACT, a radio emergency service communication team.
Carol was a beautiful and busy person involving herself in church, oil and water color painting, neighborhood Bible study group and civics. For years she served as the secretary of the Edmond Genealogical Society and was a qualified member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
Carol Joy Bird was preceded in death by her husband, Albert. She is survived by her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren; son, David Bird; daughter and husband Susanne and Tom Reynolds; their daughter and husband Sharon and Carl Harden; son Steve and his wife Judy; their children; daughter Jennifer Bird and husband Todd Wedgworth; son Shaun and wife Heather Bird; Great Grandchildren; Michael and his wife Darla Rae Bird; Summer Rae Bird, Layden Wedgworth, Janice Wedgworth, and Liam Wedgworth ; Brooklyn Bird and Xavier Bird.
Services will be held at Memorial Park Historic Chapel on the cemetery grounds
