Buddy was born on July 21, 1937, in Spencer, West Virginia. He later attended Coffeyville Junior College in Kansas, where he proudly played football as a member of the Coffeyville Ravens. In 1956, the Ravens achieved a remarkable accomplishment by winning the National Junior College Football Championship—an achievement Buddy held with great pride throughout his life.
Following his education, Buddy built a long and successful career in the insurance industry, dedicating over 40 years of service to the Oklahoma Farm Bureau in Oklahoma City. His strong work ethic, integrity, and commitment were hallmarks of his professional life.
Buddy was a devoted member of Spring Creek Baptist Church, where he remained actively involved for many years. His faith and church family were central to his life.
Outside of work and church, Buddy enjoyed the outdoors and hands-on hobbies. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, loved bowling, and found joy in tinkering with home projects—always keeping himself busy and engaged.
Buddy is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Bob and Iris Batten of Margate, Florida; his nieces, Tami and Kelly; his son, Dustin; and his cherished kindred spirit family, Carla, Ernie, and Chris.
The family extends a special thank you to Supreme Home Care Services, and especially Lynette, Francis, and Daniel, for their compassionate care and support.
Buddy Batten will be remembered for his dedication to family, faith, hard work, and the simple pleasures of life.
