Donald “Don” Eugene Maynord, 83, of Oklahoma City passed away on September 22, 2013. He was born September 8, 1930 in Oklahoma City, OK to Herman and Clara (Adams) Maynord. He attended Harding in Oklahoma City, OK and Ponca Military Academy in Ponca City, OK and majored in Business at OU. At an early age, he was drafted into the United States Air Force. He owned and operated several Maynord Mayfair Service Stations in Oklahoma, and leased warehouses. Don was not a stranger to hard work, a skill he taught his daughters. After retirement in 1992, he enjoyed working on his acreage; rebuilding an old Cadillac, and repairing other people’s vehicles. It was apparent business and auto mechanics was in his blood. He had a wonderful sense of humor and everyone loved his candor.
He married the love of his life, Blanche (Brannon) Maynordon March 4, 1966 in Dallas, Texas. The two loved traveling until she died in 2011. Don was preceded in death by his parents and wife. He is survived by his loving daughters, Debbie and Vickie Maynord; sister, Kay Puckett, and a host of nieces and nephews.
