Dorothy Geraldine Lawson

Dorothy Geraldine Lawson died peacefully from complications of a stroke on February 20, 2017 at the age of 92 . Born, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Warren and Lena Barnes, she was married to Leon F. Lawson for 50 years. She is survived by her daughter, Pamela Parker, son Steve and his wife Pamela. She was also blessed with five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Dorothy graduated from Classen High School and attended Linwood and Grace United Methodist Churches. She loved being a homemaker, wife and mother who was actively involved with Girls Scouts and little league sports and after her children were grown, worked in Sears Credit Dept for many years. She and Leon enjoyed many activities over the years such as bowling, square dancing, fishing and motor homing. Ballroom dancing was a passion her entire life and in later years was accompanied by very good friend Herman Campbell to dances and other group activities. The funeral service will be at 10:00 am on Monday, February 27 at Memorial Park Historic Cemetery Chapel. Visitation with the family will be at Memorial Park Funeral Home on Sunday, February 26 from 2-4:00 with viewing available from noon to 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Oklahoma Humane Society.
