Dorothy was born Jan. 21, 1922, in OKC to Lewis and Elizabeth Wahl. She graduated from Classen High School in 1939, and attended OBU and OCU from 1940-1942. Dorothy worked for Amoco Production Co. from 1951 to 1977.
Dorothy attended Northwest Baptist Church and served as director of the first grade Sunday school department from 1989-2000. She was active in the senior adult ministry and choir.
Dorothy enjoyed travelling and camping trips and is remembered as a precious woman of God, dedicated to her faith and to Christian stewardship. She had a love for children and a good sense of humor. In 1999 (six years after her mother’s passing), Dorothy replaced a dictionary that her mother had given to her in 1966 and wrote these words inside, “Today, sweet Mother, I have replaced the dictionary you gave me so many years ago. There have been just too many new words added since 1966!”
Dorothy’s parents and brother, Donald Wahl, preceded her in death. She is survived by a nephew, Hank, and dear friends Lisa Barsaleau and Wayne and Chris Wilson and their sons, Scott and Evan.
Service will be 10 a.m., Sat., Feb. 11, at Memorial Park Historic Cemetery Chapel, 13400 N. Kelley Ave. Burial will be at Rose Hill.
