

Edgar Dean “Kirk” Kirkpatrick, age 84 of Oklahoma City, passed away December 20, 2011. He was born June 26, 1927 in Stillwater, Oklahoma to Harry and Ada Kirkpatrick. Kirk dedicated his life to the service of others. He proudly served our country in the United States Navy during WWII and after his enlistment; he continued to serve in the Army Reserves. Kirk was also a public servant and worked as a firefighter. He was with the Stillwater Fire Department from 1949 through 1957 and with the Nichols Hills Fire Department from 1957 until his retirement as Fire Chief in 1971. After retirement, Kirk enjoyed helping others as a self employed paint contractor.
He is survived by his loving wife, Millie; three sons, Edgar Dean Kirkpatrick, Jr., Mark Kirkpatrick and Pat Kirkpatrick; one daughter, Cathy Kirkpatrick; four grandchildren, Lt. Col Michael Kirkpatrick (currently stationed in Afghanistan), Cassie Romine, Warren Helms and Indigo Harder; ten great-grandchildren and one sister, Margie Pendleton.
Kirk will be greatly missed.

Memorial Services to celebrate Kirk will be held 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 27, 2011 at the Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel.
