It is with great sadness that the family of Edna Faith Bumpres announces her passing on August 2, 2025. Edna Faith Bumpres was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on February 7, 1969 to Henry and Doris Bumpres, she was the youngest of Henry and Doris.
Because of her disability Edna never attended school. However, she did attend a learning center that helped develop some of her everyday skills. Most of her education came from our parents. She lived at Fairfax nursing home who further assisted her with everyday living skills. Our baby sister who will be dearly missed was a very loving, sweet and smart person in spite of her disability. Edna who we called “Candy” loved her sweets as well as her groceries. You never had to call her twice to come eat, also she loved watching TV, especially her game shows and newspapers.
She loved getting her nails polished and admiring others wearing it. She would grab your hands gently just to look at the colors. One day while playing with makeup, I arched her brows and made her face up, that day I couldn’t keep her out of the mirror. When our brother came to pick her up, he took one look at her and said, “What am I going to do with you now?” You could tell that was a personal moment for her as she looked at herself from side to side.
Edna is preceded in death by both parents, Henry and Doris, along with her sister Loretta McGasky. She leaves behind three sisters Sandra Lowery, Iva Rayford of Oklahoma City, OK and Henriette Smith of Dallas, TX. One brother Charles Johnson and sister-in-law Dorothy Johnson of Oklahoma City, OK.
