Harriet Downing has a special place in my heart because she married my Uncle, Roland Downing.  She has always been very kind, generous, and loving toward me. I will treasure her warm smile, good advice, gentle touch, and warm hugs always.

Aunt Harriet, was a beautiful person. I will miss her. But now she is at rest with her Mother & Father & 2 sisters & Paul & Terry. You are no longer in pain.  God Bless you Aunt Harriet. You will be missed, by all.  Your Neice TinaLynne

I was a friend of Harriet's late husband, Roland Downing, and she was a lovely woman. I know she will be missed by all who knew her.  God bless.

Harriet was a lovely lady inside and out.  She cared for everyone and was always there for anyone.  Our lives have been blessed by having Harriet being our friend for many years.

Harriet was a Special Part of our lives.  She was always so full of Joy.  It was such a Joy and Blessing to have known such a wonderful woman.  We know that she is now celebrating with the Lord.  All three of us truly enjoyed the Sunday lunches that we had together.  It was great fun to sit around the dinner table, tell stories and jokes, and what had been going on in each of our lives that week.  We laughed, cried, consoled one another.  Harriet always made one feel at home and so relaxed.  The movies that we watched together were wonderful times for all. It was a Blessing to become part of her family and to be so welcomed by her.  We will miss her and love her always.

I am so blessed to have Aunt Harriet as part of my life. She has had God on her side and belief that with Him all things were possible. She had cared for me, taught me, and over looked my faults. Most of all she loved me for who I am.  She was alway on the other end of the phone when I called and said "Hello Sugar". Our journey was long with our ups and downs, but it was a special journey made of memories and love. Thank you for being the mom I needed.

I know this sounds silly , but I always felt like Grandma would always be here. She was such a bright,stong, wonderful person. She was always there for me when I just popped in unanounced over the years. I have so many good memories that I will treasure for the rest of my life. I am so thankful that I got to visit with her last summer. I am glad she is at peace but I will miss her dearly.

How can I find the right words to express the sadness I feel at the passing of this great lady?  The world has always been a brighter place because I knew she was in it!  I have always appreciated her accepting and considerate ways.  Her thoughtfulness and consideration was surpassed only by her strong faith.  Her faith was demonstrated by example and all could follow it because she held the bar high.  Even though our lives followed paths that didn't cross often enough, I always felt her caring and love and appreciated her support.  Thank you God for placing her in my life.  I'm a better person just for having know her.

 I am so blessed to have had the time I did with Grandma, and I am grateful she is no longer in any pain. I know she is in a much better place, celebrating with those loved ones that have gone before her. Love you Grandma.

Harriet was a virtuous woman, for her price was far above rubies, She was kind for she was pure in thought. She was loving for she loved deeply and accepted her loved ones with all their faults. We were good friends prior to me being her daughter in law. We even continued to be friends when I became Mrs. Shrum. We shared and treasured a lot of  adventures together over many years. She continued over the years to tell me that she loved me like a daughter and I loved her as I loved my own mother. Thank You God for Harriet, death cannot ever take away our love and sweet memories of each other.
