He was born in Oklahoma City on February 11, 1980 to parents Ruth and James Griffin. Sam lived in a multitude of places throughout his life. He spent his time in Taos, New Mexico, Arlington, TX, and Ft. Worth, TX as well.
Sam was in the first Class to graduate from Classen School of Advanced Studies. He then attended Oklahoma State University for two years, followed by studies in Arlington, TX at the University of Texas where he was majoring in bio chemistry.
Sam worked in many fields. He enjoyed cooking and was an avid collector: Comic books, baseball cards, stamps and lastly coins. He became an expert at coin history and collecting, as well as many other important things. Sam also loved playing baseball and golf. While in high school he became a Life Scout.
One of his favorite things was socializing with his friends and family. Sam had a quick wit and was sarcastic at times, but it was always in good fun. We will surely miss him—and his jokes.
Sam was preceded in death by his Father, James G. Griffin; Paternal Grandparents, Dan H. Griffin and Bess Avera Griffin; Maternal Grandparents, John A. Orcutt and Ruth Jenkins Orcutt; Cousin, Rebecca Orcutt; as well as some friends.
Sam is survived by his mother, Ruth Griffin and Sister, Laura Griffin, both of Oklahoma City.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.MemorialParkOKC.com for the Griffin family.
