Jean Louise Thurston Harris went to Heaven on June 30, 2023. She was the only child born to Allan and Mary Thurston on March 29, 1930. She was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, George W. “Bll” Harris, and many other relatives.

After George’s death in 1997, she volunteered in many places such as the Village Methodist Church, ten years at the Oklahoma City Zoo, and Mercy Hospital for 20 years, until her health forced her to retire from all her volunteer duties.
She also spent many hours working for the Classen high school alumni association, and worked for the alumni magazine and museum.
She is survived by her four children, George Harris of Vian, OK; Linda Harris of Luther, OK; Kent Harris of Fort Worth, Tx; and Randy Harris of Edmond, Ok. She is also survived by four grandchildren - Nathan, Justin, Ryan, and Rachel, and two great-grandchildren, Cooper and Carter.
A visitation for Jean will be held Thursday, July 6, 2023, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Memorial Park Funeral Home, 13313 North Kelley Ave, Oklahoma City, OK 73131.
A funeral service will occur Friday, July 7, 2023, at 1:00 PM at Memorial Park Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
The family would like to thank the caring staff of Brookdale Senior Living in Edmond, OK, for their care of Jean in her final months, and the staff of Veraden Senior Living, where Jean had lived for 6 years prior to being transferred to Brookdale. We would also like to thank the provider staff of Good Shepherd Hospice Care, who diligently provided much care to Jean in her final months.
