Karyl Lynn Corder

She was born on November 22, 1948 to Everett Earl Corder and Wanda Altha McKee Corder at St. John’s Hospital in Tulsa, OK. The family moved to Oklahoma City in 1951 returning to Tulsa in 1965. Karyl attended high school Putnam City High School in Oklahoma City and graduated from Bixby High School in 1967. She attended Central State University, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education in August 1971.

Karyl worked for several companies including General Electric, Honeywell Data Systems, Seagate and later BTI Systems primarily as a parts buyer, but saying that animals were a big part of her life is an understatement. Over the years Karyl and her partner Karan had more than 100 pets including dogs, cats, birds, and fish and she took care of or rehomed many more.

Karyl is best remembered for All Breed Dog Grooming, where she and her partner Karan Brazell successfully turned their passion into a long-running a pet grooming business. For many years, they cared for the grooming needs of hundreds of friends and clients and thousands of pets.

Karyl is survived by Karan Brazell of Oklahoma City, her partner of more than 40 years, brothers Karl Corder of Penfield, NY his children Chris Corder of Rochester, NY, Wendy Corder of Penfield, NY, her daughters Grace and Julia, and Kenneth Corder of Edmond, OK his sons Brian Corder of Edmond, OK and Tracey (Stephanie) Corder of Yukon, OK and their sons Michael and Colton, She is also survived by Scott (Ann) McKee of Irvine, CA and Dena (David) Arne of Littleton, CO.

A memorial service for Karyl will be held Saturday, January 28, 2023 at 10:00 AM at Memorial Park Historic Chapel, 13400 N Kelley Ave, Oklahoma City, OK 73131.
