

Margaret “Peggy” Estes, 93, of Oklahoma City, passed away November 16, 2010. She was born March 18, 1917 in Oklahoma City to Dudley and Elizabeth (Irwin) Tucker. Peggy was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Estes; grandson, “Rhett” Redwine; 2 brothers, Dudley R. Tucker, Jr. and Irwin Tucker.
She is survived by two daughters, Nancy Lorey and husband Lloyd, Maggie Selby and husband Terry; 3 grandchildren, Elizabeth Lorey, Howard Lorey and wife Nicole, Jennifer Lorey; 4 great-grandchildren, Zackary and Kelsi Biegler, Grace and Graham Lorey; and one great-great grandson, Ari Biegler Webb. She is also survived by 2 brothers-in-law, Robert and Harold Estes; numerous nieces and nephews. Peggy was a horticulturist and a national judge at flower shows. She won a National Lifetime Achievement Award in Hemerocalis. Her beautiful garden was featured yearly for the Hemerocalis tour every June. She also won the OKC Beautiful Lifetime Achievement Award.
She was a Bluebird and Campfire leader as well as active involvement in many community improvement organizations. Peggy and her husband were ballroom dancers and traveled the world together. She played in a weekly bridge group and was a very talented water color artist and remembered by her loved ones as a creative homemaker. She sponsored and volunteered for many youth activities and groups as well as the Christian Women’s Fellowship and many others.
Services to celebrate Peggy will be 2:00 PM, Saturday, November 20, 2010 at Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
