Robert L. Russell, 93, of Oklahoma City, was born Oct. 30, 1919, in Kaw City, OK, to parents Robert Lee & Luzetta (McKaughan) Russell and passed away Dec. 29, 2011. He and his family moved to Oklahoma City when he was a young boy. After graduating from Classen High School, he enrolled at OU. After only 2 years at OU, he enlisted in the Army and served in England during WWII. After the war, Bob went to work at Tinker AFB where he retired in 1974, after 30 years of service. He kept busy during his retirement with numerous hobbies and projects. He was never a person to be idle.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents; brother, George Russell & wife Catherine; and his loving wife of 45 years, Barbara. He is survived by son, Ron Russell & wife Nancy of Port St. Lucie, FL; daughter, Diane Holke & husband David of Fredricksburg, TX; 4 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be at Memorial Park, Monday 9am to 5pm. Funeral services will be 10am, Tuesday, January 3, 2012, at Memorial Park Historic Cemetery Chapel. Interment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery.
