Ronny was born Ronald Joe Angle to Irene Landon and Emil Angle in San Diego, California, on September 6, 1943. Ronny was an only child. Emil was killed during World War II in 1945. Irene met and married Arthur William Crisp in the early 50s.
Ronny went to Britton Elementary, Harrison Elementary, and John Marshall Junior and Senior High School where he met and married Pamela Lynn Whittaker on September 9, 1960. They have three children: Robert Wayne Angle, Debra Sue Gianfilippo, and Meisha Lynn Haggard; seven grandchildren: Tiffany Lynn Haggard, Brian David Angle, Chelsi Rae Haggard, Kinsey Nichole Thomas, Kamber Dawn Gianfilippo, Kalie Marie Gianflippo, and Ian Kade Gilmore; and one great-granddaughter, Avery Lynn Tubbs.
Ronny spent three years in the Army and was honorably discharged in 1963. He joined the Oklahoma City Fire Department and retired after 20 years. From there he had several other little jobs, one of which was roofing. He enjoyed many sports; including: fishing, boating, hunting, camping, four wheeling, golf, and probably others the family can’t remember. He had an off-the-wall sense of humor and kept everyone laughing. He could be very critical, which gave him the nickname “Serpent Tongue”.
A celebration of Ronny’s life will be 2pm, Tuesday, December 27, at Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
