

Wilamena Scott in Mearnsville, Westmoreland, Jamaica West Indies. She was the third of
nine children.
Imogene received her early education from Mearnsville All Age School in
Westmoreland.
Imogene was previously married to Lindon Palmer in 1955.
In 1965, Imogene migrated to the Unites States with the aspiration of achieving a better
quality of life. Her desires were to become a caregiver and a beautician. To achieve
these goals, Imogene pursued her studies and obtained her CNA certification and her
Cosmetology Diploma. Imogene fulfilled her dreams by working for numerous years at
the Waring Nursing Home in the Bronx, New York, and Rego Park Nursing Home in
Queens, New York. At times, she worked both jobs consecutively.
Imogene was a faithful member of Butler Methodist Church in the Bronx, New York, for
over forty years. She was also actively involved in the church choir until she relocated to
Orlando, Florida.
Imogene enthusiastically cared for her plants and flowers. Many of her conversations
evolved around her plants and she did not hesitate to offer “plant growing advise.” She
cherished her flower garden and loved nurturing her plants even in her senior years. She
also delighted in dancing and was often the first one on the dance floor.
Most of all, Imogene was passionate about her family and friends. She enjoyed family
gatherings especially during the holidays. She consistently provided compassion, love, a
warm and friendly home and other assistance as needed.
After a short illness, Imogene transitioned to her heavenly father on April 10th, 2025.
She will surely be missed.
Imogene is predeceased by her son Earl Scott, three sisters and three brothers.
She is survived by her sons, Garth (Sonia) Palmer, Trevor (Clive) Palmer and Karl Palmer,
grandchildren, Judy, Lena, Richard, David, Khary, Kearne, Keisha, Sadiki, Leana, Shomari
and 16 great-grandchildren, Sisters, Lena (Herman) Channer, Pansy (Ridley)
Tomlinson, niece, Sandra Lai, other nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends
who will cherish her memories endlessly. Imogene Myrtle Palmer, age 98, of Orlando, Florida passed away on Thursday, April 10, 2025.
