A teenager of the Great Depression, she was raised in rural Boones Mill, Virginia with her now predeceased brothers and sisters.
A young woman of the 1940s, she was a war bride and widow to Carl King. She found a second love and married J. Gordon Wimmer.
During the 50s and 60s she gave birth to four baby boomer children. James G Jr, infant Judy, Kathy Marie and Robin Diane (Argenbright).
In the late 60s, as a single mother, she moved with her two daughters to Orlando, Florida and began a waitressing career.
She found love a third time in the 1970s and married Roy Nelson.
The 1980s brought grand children but sadly the loss of her husband. She returned to Virginia to enjoy being a grandmother to Robert Wimmer, Paul and Rachel Argenbright (Jerden).
Her life was filled with great friends, many creative pursuits and a great love for her faith in Jesus Christ. One of her greatest joys was a trip to Israel in '96.
On October 2, 2022, just months after her 101st birthday, she left this earthly life to join so many of her loved ones in heaven. In addition to her children and grandchildren, she leaves 8 great grandchildren.
